A great read with something for everyone.
A great read, with something for everyone. The nostalgic look back at small town life in the Midwest in the 1960’s was my favorite part, evoking quiet summer nights, families sitting outside, and playing with friends until the street lights came on. But interwoven with that is also a classic story of good versus evil, a coming of age story, and a mystery that gradually reveals itself. Those three elements make this book shine. The writing is easygoing and down to earth, with good dialogue, excellent descriptions of country life, and it brings the reader along at their own pace, despite being a quick read.
